The past month, we have been on a wild ride and digital educational resources have been all I am thinking about. Thrown into distance learning with little to no notice. Learning to use digital tools while using them to reach our students. Rolling with changing policies and expectations. Balancing responsibilities and adjusting to the new normal.
I want you to know, I’m right here with you. COVID-19 has turned our world upside down. I’ve created a couple of free digital downloads that have really helped me out. I hope you will find them useful during this challenging time.
How Can I Help? Organization?
A few weeks ago, I asked myself this question. Many of my friends were reaching out because they were having a difficult time creating a schedule for themselves and to share with their students. I created an editable weekly schedule using Google Slides. Google Slides is the perfect choice for a digital schedule because it is super easy to share and include links to digital activities and videos. The schedules have two main uses. First, teachers can share the schedule with students so they understand the expectations and have access to the resources needed. Second, teachers can use the schedule to collaborate with team members. Share the schedule with the entire team to collaborate. This way the workload is shared. How Can I Help? Google Apps?
Many of my friends are jumping into using Google Classroom for the first time. This is a great platform to share information and assignments with students. I remember my frustration in 2016 trying to learn how to use Google Classroom. I started a new job at a school that was 1:1. The staff received extensive Google Apps training the year before I started. I was winging it! It was rough!
I would love to help you. Over the past four years, I have created many different digital resources using Google Apps. My students love using technology to learn and show what they know. Recently, my passion has been digital flip books. They are so easy to use and share.
This morning, I decided to create adorable sloth Google Classroom headers to share with you. These include inspirational messages you can use to personalize your Google Classroom page. I added this free set of 6 headers to the free digital library. It includes six uplifting quotes with adorable sloths. These headers were inspired by my sloth classroom theme. I love using sloths to promote a growth mindset.
